Everything ErgoSense watches for you

A complete breakdown of how ErgoSense monitors posture, eye strain, and focus — and why every frame stays on your own machine.

Feature list

Real-time posture scoring

ErgoSense reads shoulder alignment, head position, and spinal curvature from your webcam and turns them into a single live posture score. When you drift into a slouch, you get a nudge in the moment — not a generic timer that fires whether or not you are sitting badly.

Eye strain and blink-rate tracking

Staring at a screen suppresses your blink rate, which is a primary driver of dry, tired eyes. ErgoSense tracks how often you actually blink and flags when the rate falls below a healthy range, so you can correct it before the headache arrives.

20-20-20 break reminders

Built-in, customisable reminders for the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Reminders can be tuned or muted per work session so they stay useful instead of becoming background noise.

Daily analytics and trends

A dashboard of posture quality, eye strain, blink rate, and focus time over the day and week. Trends are what make a habit stick — seeing that your posture degrades every afternoon is far more actionable than a single alert.

100% local processing

All computer-vision inference runs on your own machine. No video, no still frames, and no health data are uploaded, recorded, or stored on a server. There is no account to create and nothing to opt out of.

Unobtrusive system tray alerts

ErgoSense lives in your menu bar or system tray. Alerts are quiet, dismissible, and designed not to steal focus mid-task — the point is to correct posture, not to interrupt work.

Light on resources

Typically under 5% CPU usage. The app is built on Electron with TensorFlow and MediaPipe for inference, and stores its history in a local SQLite database rather than a remote one.

Genuinely cross-platform

Native builds for macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows 10+, and Linux via AppImage, .deb, and .rpm. Most posture apps are macOS-only; ErgoSense treats all three desktop platforms as first-class.
