Download ErgoSense — free for Mac, Windows & Linux

ErgoSense watches your posture and eye strain through your webcam and nudges you when you slouch. Every frame is analysed on your own machine — nothing is uploaded, recorded, or stored.

Install instructions by platform

ErgoSense for macOS

macOS 12.0 (Monterey) or later · Apple Silicon (M-series) only

Installer: ErgoSense-2.2.4-arm64.dmg · 155 MB

More about ErgoSense on macOS
  1. 1Download the .dmg file for macOS.
  2. 2Open the .dmg and drag ErgoSense into your Applications folder.
  3. 3Launch ErgoSense. On first run, macOS may warn that the app is from an unidentified developer — open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose “Open Anyway”.
  4. 4Grant camera access when prompted. This is required for posture detection and is processed entirely on-device.

ErgoSense for Windows

Windows 10 or later · x64

Installer: ErgoSense-Setup-2.2.4.exe · 152 MB

More about ErgoSense on Windows
  1. 1Download the .exe installer for Windows.
  2. 2Run the installer from your Downloads folder. ErgoSense checks for the Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) on first launch and links you to Microsoft's download if it is missing.
  3. 3If Windows Defender SmartScreen appears, click “More info” then “Run anyway” — the build is unsigned, not unsafe.
  4. 4Allow camera access when Windows prompts. All analysis runs locally on your PC.

ErgoSense for Linux

Most modern x64 distributions · AppImage, .deb and .rpm builds

Installer: ErgoSense-2.2.4.AppImage · 395 MB AppImage · 226 MB .deb/.rpm

More about ErgoSense on Linux
  1. 1Download the .AppImage (portable), or the .deb / .rpm package for your distribution.
  2. 2For the AppImage, make it executable: chmod +x ErgoSense.AppImage
  3. 3Run it directly — no installation required. For .deb use sudo dpkg -i, for .rpm use sudo rpm -i.
  4. 4Ensure your user belongs to the video group so the app can read your webcam.

Why ErgoSense is free

Most desktop posture apps charge between $24 and $100 a year. ErgoSense was built by a solo developer who thinks a tool that protects your spine and your eyesight should not sit behind a paywall. There is no premium tier, no trial timer, and no upsell.

  • No account or sign-up required
  • No subscription, ever
  • No telemetry on your health data
  • Your webcam feed never leaves your device
