Privacy Policy
How ErgoSense protects your privacy
100% Private - All processing happens locally on your device. No personal data is ever sent to the cloud.
My Privacy Commitment
ErgoSense was built with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought. I believe you should be able to improve your health without sacrificing your privacy.
The simple truth: I don't collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
All AI processing happens entirely on your device. Your camera feed is analyzed locally and never leaves your Mac. No images, videos, or health data are ever sent to any server.
What Data Is Processed
ErgoSense processes the following data **locally on your device only**:
• **Camera feed** - Analyzed in real-time for posture and eye health metrics. Never recorded or stored.
• **Posture metrics** - Calculated locally and stored only on your device for your personal analytics.
• **Eye health data** - Blink rate, eye strain levels, and related metrics stored locally.
• **Usage statistics** - Focus time, break patterns, and ergonomic scores stored locally.
None of this data ever leaves your device.
Camera Access
ErgoSense requires camera access to monitor your posture and eye health. Here's exactly what happens:
• Your camera feed is processed in real-time using on-device AI.
• Video frames are analyzed and immediately discarded - never saved.
• No screenshots, recordings, or images are ever created.
• Camera access can be revoked at any time through macOS System Preferences.
• When you close ErgoSense, camera access stops completely.
No Cloud, No Servers
Unlike many health apps, ErgoSense:
• **Does NOT** send your health data to any cloud servers
• **Does NOT** require an account or login
• **Does NOT** sell or share any user data (I have none to share)
• **Does NOT** connect to the internet for any core functionality
The only network connections the app makes are to check for updates (optional) and for error reporting (see below).
Error Tracking (Sentry)
To continuously improve ErgoSense and fix bugs quickly, I use Sentry for error tracking. Here's what this means:
What Sentry collects:
• Crash reports and error logs when something goes wrong
• Basic device info (macOS version, app version)
• Error stack traces to help diagnose issues
What Sentry does NOT collect:
• Any camera data, images, or video
• Your health metrics (posture, eye strain, blink rate)
• Personal information or identifiers
• Your usage patterns or analytics
Why I use it:
• To identify and fix bugs faster
• To improve app stability and performance
• To make ErgoSense better for everyone
This error data is used solely to improve the app and is never shared or sold. You can disable error reporting in the app settings if you prefer.
Data Deletion
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
• **Uninstalling** ErgoSense removes all associated data
• **Resetting** within the app clears all stored metrics
• **You have complete control** over your data at all times
I cannot delete your data because I never have access to it in the first place.
